1. CONGREGATIONAL INTENT AND PURPOSE
    •  Honoring our Lord’s command in Ephesians 6:4 to “bring our children up in the training
      and instruction of the Lord,” Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) will support the Christian
      education of our members’ preschool and elementary-aged children through tuition
      assistance.
    • Such tuition assistance will be a budgeted item in TLC’s annual budget, calculated by
      the Board for Christian Education and approved by the Church Council each year.
  2.  ELIGIBILITY
    • At least one parent or legal guardian must be a TLC member in good standing.
    • “Member” used here is a “Communicant Member,” according to TLC’s Constitution and
      Bylaws, which says (Article V:5)…

      • Communicant Membership in this congregation shall be restricted to such as:
        1. are baptized, have been instructed in Luther’s Small Catechism, and
        declare their adherence to the doctrine of the Lutheran Church;
        2. diligently attend divine services and frequently partake of Holy
        Communion;
        3. willingly contribute towards the maintenance of church, school, mission
        endeavors, and benevolent purposes according to their ability;
        4. do not live in manifest works of the flesh, and are not members of any
        anti-Christian society (lodge), but lead a Christian life (Galatians 5:19–21);
        5. exercise diligence to have their children instructed in Christian doctrine
        and urge them to attend Bible class after confirmation;
        6. will readily submit to the rules and regulations of this congregation.
        3. TLC’s tuition assistance will be offered only to children attending schools of our
        ELS/WELS fellowship, primarily the schools of our Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School
        Federation.
  3. STRUCTURE
    • TLC will subsidize the difference between “member” and “non-member” K-8 tuition up to
      the maximum levels stated below. “Member” tuition in this context is the tuition that
      would be paid by a member of the church affiliated with the elementary school.Please
      contact each ELS or WELS elementary school directly for all current fees.
    • TLC will support tuition by annually establishing an Annual Support Amount (ASA) which
      is detailed below.

      • If the difference between “member” and “non-member” tuition is smaller than
        TLC’s ASA, TLC’s support will be reduced so that the TLC families pay the
        equivalent of the “member” rate.
      • If the difference between “non-member” and “member” tuition is greater than
        TLC’s ASA, the family is responsible for the “member” rate plus the difference.
    • TLC will make ASA payments directly to the school(s) being attended, not to member
      families.
    • Only tuition fees; not registration, book, computer, etc. fees; are to be used for the above
      calculations. TLC provides no support for non-tuition fees.
    • TLC will subsidize up to half of the Pre-K tuition, not to exceed the ASA.
