- CONGREGATIONAL INTENT AND PURPOSE
- Honoring our Lord’s command in Ephesians 6:4 to “bring our children up in the training
and instruction of the Lord,” Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC) will support the Christian
education of our members’ preschool and elementary-aged children through tuition
assistance. - Such tuition assistance will be a budgeted item in TLC’s annual budget, calculated by
the Board for Christian Education and approved by the Church Council each year.

- ELIGIBILITY
- At least one parent or legal guardian must be a TLC member in good standing.
- “Member” used here is a “Communicant Member,” according to TLC’s Constitution and
Bylaws, which says (Article V:5)…- Communicant Membership in this congregation shall be restricted to such as:
1. are baptized, have been instructed in Luther’s Small Catechism, and
declare their adherence to the doctrine of the Lutheran Church;
2. diligently attend divine services and frequently partake of Holy
Communion;
3. willingly contribute towards the maintenance of church, school, mission
endeavors, and benevolent purposes according to their ability;
4. do not live in manifest works of the flesh, and are not members of any
anti-Christian society (lodge), but lead a Christian life (Galatians 5:19–21);
5. exercise diligence to have their children instructed in Christian doctrine
and urge them to attend Bible class after confirmation;
6. will readily submit to the rules and regulations of this congregation.
3. TLC’s tuition assistance will be offered only to children attending schools of our
ELS/WELS fellowship, primarily the schools of our Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School
Federation.
- Communicant Membership in this congregation shall be restricted to such as:
- STRUCTURE
- TLC will subsidize the difference between “member” and “non-member” K-8 tuition up to
the maximum levels stated below. “Member” tuition in this context is the tuition that
would be paid by a member of the church affiliated with the elementary school.Please
contact each ELS or WELS elementary school directly for all current fees. - TLC will support tuition by annually establishing an Annual Support Amount (ASA) which
is detailed below.- If the difference between “member” and “non-member” tuition is smaller than
TLC’s ASA, TLC’s support will be reduced so that the TLC families pay the
equivalent of the “member” rate. - If the difference between “non-member” and “member” tuition is greater than
TLC’s ASA, the family is responsible for the “member” rate plus the difference.
- If the difference between “member” and “non-member” tuition is smaller than
- TLC will make ASA payments directly to the school(s) being attended, not to member
families. - Only tuition fees; not registration, book, computer, etc. fees; are to be used for the above
calculations. TLC provides no support for non-tuition fees. - TLC will subsidize up to half of the Pre-K tuition, not to exceed the ASA.
- TLC will subsidize the difference between “member” and “non-member” K-8 tuition up to
