Rev. Daniel J. Hartwig was born and raised in the farm country near Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He is the pastor at Trinity and has over 15 years of experience being a pastor and teacher in traditional Lutheran school settings. Besides teaching Catechism class for every year of his ministry, he has also taught Bible History and Lutheran Hymnology. Most recently, he taught Biblical Greek in a traditional grade school classroom for two years and is continuing to teach it to his own children today.

Pastor Hartwig has a B.A. in liberal arts from Bethany Lutheran College, a M.Div. from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in theological studies from the Graduate Theological Foundation.

He is married to Sarah and they have four children ranging from fourth through eleventh grade at Trinity and Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys writing hymns, listening to classic rock (especially prog rock), the occasional woodworking project, and he has a well-known sweet tooth–especially for Skittles.

His favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:1, “There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
